Feedings now can sometimes extend to 3 hours while awake but are still typically 1.5-2 hours. Everything has really just been great with feeding!
We entered Wonder Week Leap 3 week 14. Skylar was so much fussier and struggling to nap. Nighttime sleep is still pretty good. She sleeps at least 10 hours every night with one or two night feedings. It became smaller chunks of sleep when she was sick for a couple weeks, but she’s back to sleeping 8+ hour stretches if I do a dream feed before I go to bed. I omitted the dream feed, and she’s still getting anywhere from 6-7 hours the first stretch of sleep.
Her 4-month appointment actually isn’t even scheduled until January due to appointment availability. Since she was sick last week, we did bring her in and found out she’s a whopping 15 pounds, 6 ounces. She gained about three pounds in 5 weeks and is officially over two feet tall!! Insane.
She spoke consonants one day. B (like “buh”) in the bath when she was playing with a ball. This was absolutely too cute, but we couldn’t get her to repeat it another day.
She now rolls over from back to tummy and rolls both ways pretty easily. Now that she is able, all she wants to do is be on her tummy. Oh, the noises she makes when she’s on her tummy.
Skylar can grip toys and enjoys solo play more often (as in, entertaining herself with her toys while I stand nearby and watch).
My absolute favorite moment this month was watching Skylar get emotional to songs. I had Spotify on while I was playing with her, and an instrumental hymn started playing. Once it reached this one part with a violin solo, she started pouting and her eyes watered. I replayed it, and she listened to the whole thing and played fine until that part came on. It kinda goes to show you what an impact music can make. Check her reaction out below.
What is crazy is she did the same thing – although even more emotional when I would sing a different hymn to her a different day. She even got teary-eyed when a friend’s child was crying as if she felt bad for him. We have such an emotional little girl!
